FAQs

  • CSA or Community Supported Agriculture is a beautiful way for eaters and farmers to collaborate and mutually support each other.

By purchasing a CSA share early in the season, farmers are able to market their food before the busy farm season begins and are able to have cash earlier in the season to purchase materials such as seeds and soil amendments necessary to grow the food. When members sign-up early farmers can tailor field plans and seed orders to craft a superior CSA experience.

As a CSA member, you get to develop a direct relationship with the people who grew your food and the land that it was grown on.

  • “Free Choice” means that you get to choose the vegetables you take home each week as part of your share. We put out a spread of vegetables resembling a farmers market stand you select what you’d like to eat that week based on the number of items included in your share (4, 6, or 8).

  • A CSA share is a chunk of change up front and we are committed to ensuring that you get the best value for the price of the CSA.

There is a lot of work that goes into producing sustainably grown vegetables, and as a CSA member you get to talk directly to the farmer to understand exactly what went into growing the specific crop that you may be eating that very same day.

CSA share prices do not contain grocery store markups or inflated farmers market prices. So, in general, we think you will find that the food you purchase through the CSA is cheaper than local vegetables you could buy at the co-op, farmers market, or a farm stand.

We also stand behind the quality of our produce and pride ourselves on growing the highest quality food for our community that we are able.

  • If you know ahead of time that you will not make a pickup we encourage you to send a friend in your place! If you miss a pickup by accident, depending on availability you can “make-up” at the next scheduled pick-up (Tuesdays for Friday members and Fridays for Tuesday members).

  • We offer a two week trial for our members, if you are dissatisfied with your share, we will refund you on a pro-rated basis (not including the non-refundable deposit). After the first two weeks of CSA we can not offer a refund.

  • We want our vegetables to be accessible to folks in all kinds of economic situations. We offer subsidized CSA shares for those in need as well as Payment Plans. Please contact us with any questions.

If your question wasn’t answered here, it might be covered in our CSA Member Agreement. Feel free to contact us if it’s not covered there.
